In general, Access is better for managing data: helping you keep it organized, easy to search, and available to multiple simultaneous users. Excel is generally better for analyzing data: performing complex calculations, exploring possible outcomes, and producing high quality charts.



How would you compare Access database and Excel spreadsheet?

    ~ Excel has more flexibility, while Access is more rigid in how we can use it. Access is more useful than Excel in one specific area. For example, Excel only provides worksheets that are flat or non-relational. On the other hand, Access offers relational tables at multiple levels.
